Powering Performance
LamaLo offers state-of-the-art propulsion powering measurement and analysis services. Shaft torque is measured using strain gauges, in a full bridge configuration, mounted directly to the propulsion shaft. The strain gauge signals are conditioned and transmitted to a stationary receiver using digital telemetry systems. An LLT software program is used to store and analyze the data on a Lap Top Computer. Measurements are displayed in near-real time so an assessment of the delivered shaft power (and vibrations) can be made throughout the trials. A shaft power vs. ship speed curve can be provided on-site shortly after measurements are taken for further assessment and evaluation.
